KAVI-ICR hosted Dr Huwaida Bulhan, Africa Region Lead at Sanofi, for a courtesy visit focused on strengthening academia–industry collaboration. The team shared KAVI-ICR’s clinical trials experience, research output, and continued investment in infrastructure and capacity, underscoring its role in generating evidence to inform policy and improve health outcomes.

Dr Bulhan highlighted the need to strengthen locally relevant research, enhance diversity in clinical trials, and build strong cross-sector partnerships. Discussions focused on aligning priorities, improving trial readiness, and accelerating translation of research into impact. Dr Marianne Mureithi, director of KAVI-ICR, noted, “Strong academia–industry partnerships are key to translating science into real-world health solutions.”
